MSN, APRN, PMHCNS-BC
I am a board-certified psychiatric/mental health clinical nurse specialist specializing in psychiatric medication management, counseling, and consultation services for adults ages 18 and over.
My commitment to mental health care began after graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in psychology, where I was inducted into the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology in 2002.
I have extensive experience in the treatment of adults with mental health conditions in residential, outpatient and inpatient facilities.
I began my career in mental health as a residential program counselor for Advocates, Inc., a non-profit human services agency in eastern Massachusetts supporting adults living with chronic and severe mental illnesses. I later worked as an inpatient nurse at Emerson Hospital's Behavioral Health Unit, providing direct care for patients with serious mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders.
I earned my master's degree in adult psychiatric/mental health nursing from the University of Massachusetts Worcester Graduate School of Nursing in 2008, where I was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in 2007. I became a board-certified advanced practice nurse through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and began practicing as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist in 2009.
Since beginning my practice, I have worked across a range of care settings:
Since 2018, I have been providing telemedicine services, making quality psychiatric care accessible to patients throughout Massachusetts.
I believe that effective psychiatric treatment starts with truly listening. Every patient brings a unique history, and I take the time to understand yours before recommending any course of treatment.
My goal is to work with you as a partner in your mental health journey - not simply prescribe medication, but help you understand your options and feel confident in your care plan.
I'm currently accepting new patients for virtual appointments.

Understanding the PMHCNS-BC credential and what it means for your care
The PMHCNS-BC (Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, Board Certified) is an advanced practice credential awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). It represents specialized graduate-level training in both psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy - a combination that most other mental health providers simply do not offer under one roof.
The PMHCNS-BC is a nationally recognized credential from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, requiring rigorous examination, graduate education, and ongoing clinical hours to maintain.
Unlike a psychiatrist who typically only prescribes medication, or a therapist who cannot prescribe, Jaime provides both medication management and evidence-based counseling in the same appointment.
Seeing one provider for everything means no conflicting recommendations, no repeating your story, and a deeper therapeutic relationship built on trust and understanding over time.
From inpatient psychiatric units and community mental health clinics to university counseling and private practice, Jaime brings over 15 years of hands-on clinical expertise to every appointment.
Typically focuses on diagnosis and medication. Appointments are often 15-20 minutes. You usually need a separate therapist for counseling, meaning two providers and two schedules.
Trained primarily in medication management. Some offer brief supportive counseling, but most do not provide formal psychotherapy as a core part of their training.
Jaime's credential. Dual-trained in both prescriptive authority and psychotherapy. You get medication management and counseling from the same provider in a single appointment.
